Family Bonding (Christmas Party --- Valencia Reunion 2K9)

Christmas is the best season to reunite with all your loved ones, that’s why most families held their family reunion during this season.

Last Sunday, December 27, 2K9, we had a “Christmas Party – Valencia Reunion ‘09” at Auntie’s place (in my boyfriend’s side). And we had so much fun. Everyone was laughing our heads out during the parlor games and during exchange gifts, as well. We definitely enjoyed the family reunion that day!

Holy Innocents

Holy Innocents or Childermas (Children’s Mass) in other countries, is a festival known to Christians as a commemoration of the mass infanticide or massacre of young male children in Bethlehem ages two years old and below by King Herod of Judea.

Christmas Day

Christmas is the one season of the year when generosity is a national pastime. I love it, because it’s the celebration of our Savior’s birthday and I just can’t think of a more wonderful time of the year.

The BEST and PERFECT gift of all at Christmas

During Christmas, everyone especially the kids are all excited to open all the gifts they have received. Gifts come in small and big packages. Some comes in monetary amount called “aguinaldo”.

But do you guys know what PERFECT and BEST gift a man can ever received at Christmas?

Gift-Giving at Christmas

We can’t address discovering the power of generosity at Christmas without talking about gifts. But do you guys know why people give gifts at Christmas? Some points to the story of Magi while others points out to the story of St. Nicholas and then later on follow his generosity.

Christmas Eve (Noche Buena)

Christmas Eve is usually a sleepless day and a continuous celebration for us, Filipinos. We celebrate this day, as early as dawn by attending the last “Simbang Gabi.” Then, afterwards, every family already starts preparing “Noche Buena” which is a family feast that takes place after midnight. Some families, held ‘family reunion’ during this event, as well.

Exchange Gift in the Office

Yey! Finally, I had time for my blog. I’ve been very busy last week --- too much OTs, too many work and Office Christmas Party. For 4 consecutive days, I haven’t check and updated my blog. I missed blogging! Thank God, coz I’m able to update my blog today and my topic will be our “Exchange Gift in the Office”. ^_^

Celebration of Christmas is incomplete without the traditional “exchange gift”, which is so common during this season. This tradition is followed since ages and this makes the season more cheerful.

Overtime Hassle

Overtime (OT) is the amount of time someone works beyond normal working hours.

Rendering OT has it pros and cons, (I guess as for me it has… haha) It is good especially when you’re really in need of money, because it can somehow help you earn a little more compared to your usual pay or salary. OT rates per hour are usually higher than the usual hourly work rates.

Near Christmas Bonding Time ^_^

Christmas will not be complete without “Christmas Decorations”, of course. Filipinos are used to putting lots of different Christmas decors in the house, malls, offices, schools, parks etc. --- such as the Christmas tree with either the angel or the stars on top of it, Christmas lights (some with music), Parol (lanterns), Santa Claus, gifts, reindeers, belen (a display representing the Nativity scene) and so many others.

Along Ayala, Makati City, there were lots of different Christmas decorations displayed outside of each buildings located there. And on the Glorietta park, there is a beautiful huge Christmas tree display.

Kris Kringle - - - "something worth REMEMBERING"

Yesterday (December 14, 2K9) was our last batch of kris kringle and our theme was "something worth remembering".

From having only 4 members last week, we now had 1 additional participant, which made us 5. yey! All 5 of us were happy and really satisfied with the gift we had received yesterday.

Filipino Christmas Caroling

For Filipinos, each festivity is incomplete without music being played during the celebrations. And on Christmas seasons, as early as October, you can already hear lots of Christmas carols being played everywhere --- in radio stations, malls, etc.

And on December 16, as the same date for the start of “simbang gabi”, children and other carolers already start doing “carolings.” For, it is the official start of it.

Simbang Gabi (Misa de Gallo)

As a Filipino, one of the traditional values that have remained strong and very integral to us is our love for celebrating different occasions or festivities. We celebrate every significant event in our lives such as birthdays, baptismal, anniversaries, promotions, graduations and so many others.

Christmas is one of the most important seasons that we celebrate. And we, Filipinos, actually do celebrate the longest Christmas in the world. For it starts, when the “ber” seasons arrives --- October, September, November, and December; and even lasted till the 6th day of January (for the celebrations of the “3 kings”).

13th month pay =)

December or Christmas season means getting a 13th month pay for those employed people just like I am. 13th month is said to be the 1/12 of your salary --- basic salary to be exact.

Kris Kringle --- something 'Naughty

Christmas is the season of love, forgiving and giving. And usually, when Christmas is near, people are doing some “kris kringle” among friends, relatives, classmates or officemates. It usually start a few weeks before the Christmas party and the worth or amount of gift is much cheaper compared to the final “exchange gift” which is done during the Christmas party itself. Nice thing ’bout the kris kringle, is that, it comes with a particular theme which is often funny, green, unique and the like; that makes it more thrilling and challenging.

My Very First Own Laptop --- eMachines D725-432G32Mi by Acer

I've been dying to buy a laptop for myself since June of last year, so I could regularly check all my social networking accounts, do blogging and study Photoshop. But my only problem is I'm on a very tight budget. I ask for assistance with my boyfriend's brother on what best laptop to buy for a low budget and he send me a link to asus k40ij (which coincidentally was my 1st choice)...But it cost a little higher so, I look for other laptops that will best suit for my small budget...I saw acer 4736z-432G25Mn and this one --- the eMachines D725-432G32Mi by acer.
